Greeting Cards

Last year I made these greeting cards using left over fused fabric right on purchased blank cards. It was so fun and fast and addictive!! It is a great way to use up your fused scrap fabric and adds a special touch to those holiday cards.
I ran this one through the printer first to getting the printing on the side of the card. I had to practice first to make sure it was positioned in the right place.
And what would a holiday be without a few special trees.
It is cold and grey here in the Midwest so some bright colors are always appreciated. Yes these cards are lime green! I got them at Target. I don't know if they still carry them.

I was looking around for an email link and didn't find one. I was wondering about the kind of fusing you use. I tried fusing but the stuff gunked up my sewing needle and made it impossible to sew the thing afterwards. Any suggestions? I love your colors! Check out my blog and you'll understand, my art glass is in the same colors!

Love the cards and idea! I used to make my own xmas cards when I was really into scrapbooking. I tried sewing a few with fabric and never really liked them... BUT since I am a big fuser, I always have lots of left overs.. now I have a brand new idea for 2009. I better make a sample this year, or I will forget. Thanks for the inspiration.

The kind of fusible I have always used is WonderUnder, it is cheap, light weight and doesn't gum up your needle. It is what I use on all my art quilts!! It is the best. Buy the one that has the number 805 on the end of the bolt!

What a great idea! I am definitely going to try that on some plain note cards that I have. :)
