Winter Wonderland

Even though we have lots of snow and the temperature gets below 0, George and I still go out everyday. You know it is cold, though, when the dog only wants to go around the path once. When he heads home, it must really be nippy.

We still love to go out!

2009 Calendar is Here

The 2009 calendar is here! This is a great gift for your quilting bee buddies, or just to brighten up your studio or office space. The price is the same as last year. $5 includes the shipping and handling. Treat yourself and your friends. Happy New Year 2009

Greeting Cards

Last year I made these greeting cards using left over fused fabric right on purchased blank cards. It was so fun and fast and addictive!! It is a great way to use up your fused scrap fabric and adds a special touch to those holiday cards.
I ran this one through the printer first to getting the printing on the side of the card. I had to practice first to make sure it was positioned in the right place.
And what would a holiday be without a few special trees.
It is cold and grey here in the Midwest so some bright colors are always appreciated. Yes these cards are lime green! I got them at Target. I don't know if they still carry them.

Holiday Cheer

Yesterday Laura W. hosted the "Chicago School of Fusing Christmas Party". Those in attendance were Jane Sassaman, Judy Perez, Emily Parson, me, Laura and Anne Lullie. We had a great time. We talked about the following, but not in this order - Finances, the weather, travel, work, our kids, our husbands, body parts, new toys, blogging, facebook, knitting, yarn, food, recipes, weight, books, ideas, clothes, and advertising.
Fun, laughter and love was had by all.

Emily made these tiny Advent socks for her family and we played with them at the table after lunch. Aren't they just the cutest? Don't you want to make them? She said they took about an hour and half each. I'll get right on it, Em.
Thanks Laura

As a special treat to all of you this holiday season, I will include a 1/2 yard of gradated fabric as my gift with every order over $30. Simply email me after you place your order and let me know what color you would like.

One of a Kind show

These are just some of the things that caught my eye at the One of a Kind Show on Friday. Mary Lynn O'shea Studio makes these gorgeous pieces.
Of course we ran in to Mimi, of Mimi designs, and her fabulous framed quilted pieces. She has had one of her designs picked up by Crate and Barrel and they made into a rug!! it is in the current catalog. Way cool.
Susan Hedin is a fiber artist from Stillwater MN who's work just took our breath away. It is all done in silk shantung. Just lovely

Mother of the Groom

Lars and Megan
OK here we go, I am starting to look for Mother of the Groom dresses. I sure could use some advice. I live in the Chicago land area, anyone out there who knows of a great shop to look for dresses please email me and let me know the name. I am going to the mall today with my mother to start the process. I just want to find something that I like and will feel comfortable in. So send me your suggestions if you have done this before.

Christmas Trees

Christmas morning
Tiny Duluth Trees

Sunset Pines
If you didn't know it already I love trees. These are just some of the images of Pine Trees that I have made over the years. They all seem appropriate for this time of year, celebrating with "The Christmas Tree." And of course they are all so fast to make. Those tiny Duluth Trees can be whipped up in 1/2 a day, start to finish.
I'm definitely beginning to feel the Christmas spirit. When Zac and Amelia where here we put out my Santa's on the mantel and I think this week I will hang all my angels. It's so fun to enjoy them for a month or so.
