Hummingbirds

I have a hummingbird nest in MY BACKYARD. It is so cool. I see them coming and going all day. They like to rest and prune their feathers on the dead branches of my lilac bush. It's a good thing I never got around to trimming up those branches this year.

The nest is in the oak tree that hangs over my garden. It is only about 2-3 inches tall and about 3-4 inches wide.

Doesn't that look like batting!! It was meant to be in my back yard. I am going to try to get a picture of it in the nest. Wish me luck.

Hi Frieda! Isn't that wonderful about the hummingbirds and nest. I worked at a plant nursery once and there was a little nest like that and every year the mama came back to the same nest.

We get hummingbirds, but I've never seen one of their nests before. That's really wonderful!! Thanks for sharing it.

I had one too! I read that the nest is made of dandelion puffs, lichen and spiderwebs...
