My friend Anne Lullie has a great workshop called "Colorplay". I know some of you quilters out there are "shy" about color and this is the perfect opportunity, if you live in the IL or WI area, to experiment with lots of color in a fun and stress free environment.
"There are several spots left for my Half-day "Colorplay" workshop on Saturday Feb 7th 10 a.m-1 p.m. This is a very fun workshop where students learn about color theory and "playing" with color as they learn to use the color wheel, and the kit of pre-fused fabric in oodles of colors. This workshop is for all levels of quilter's; anyone who would like to get out of the house, have some fun with us, and can use an iron will enjoy this workshop! Great for curing Cabin Fever; and injecting some colorful ideas into your winter quiltmaking. Please contact: Jan Fenwick email quiltmaker220@yahoo.comor Anne Lullie email annelullie@gmail.com (Or reply to this email)my home phone is (847)658-2294 Anne Lullie"

Dancing at the reception
Lars is getting married in a month. Lars informed me we need to pick a song he and I can dance to at the reception. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. :)

Edmonds WA
I had a fabulous time in Edmonds WA. The Quilters Anonymous Quilt Guild invited me to teach and I was glad to get out of freezing Illinois!!!
Of course I couldn't pass up a great looking tree like this. Thank you Cathy, who was my fabulous hostess. Cathy took me all over the place showing me the sites. Unfortunately I left my camera at the house!
Anyway, it was a great group and we had a wonderful time in class. As usual eveyone did something unique and fantastic and fun was had by all.

Little Duluth Trees
Someone asked what size these little quilts are. Most of them are 8.5" x 11", Tiny Autumn Mums was 16" x 12". But if you keep them small you can also find premade frames to put them in like I did with "Little Duluth Trees"

Tiny Autumn Mums
In all of my patterns you get a tiny version of the pattern as well to make that uses up your fused scraps. This is the tiny version of Autumn Mums. I had more fun than I should have making this little quilt and after it was made I added in some hand details with Laura's hand dyed thread. It reminded me of being a teen ager and doodling with thread like I used to do. This was alot more fun than anything I've done lately. Something about "little" makes it seem so "Darling"

Traveling Fabric
You gotta check this out. Carmen bought some of my fabrics and boy do they look good at her house.
Tiny Projects
I have been very busy working on a big project and haven't had time to blog. But I thought that I would show you some of my tiny pieces. These little pieces give me as much pleasure as larger work and seem so much more intimate. They are no bigger than 10" x 12" with the above Jack in the Pulpit being post card size. Jack in the Pulpit and the tiny Dandelion are made from all silk and machine quilted with silk thread. I am really loving the silk thread for machine quilting.

Winter Weather
Winter Weather is my newest gradation. It grades from a rich rust orange to a musky navy blue with so many shades of brown inbetween the two. The perfect fabric to create that feeling of winter colors. It is my January special. For the month of January only this gradation will be featured at $22 a yard. Yards only. I know you'll love using it.
