For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice.

My favorite time of year is the fall. I love to see the leaves change color, I love the crisp cool sunny days and I love to wear autumnal colored clothes.
The quilts featured in my last four months on my 2011 calendar reflect all of that. I  often gaze out on the horizon here in the mid-west and marveled at the vast expanse of farm fields and field grasses. My eye is captivated by these scenes. These quilts are a direct response to that.

I have become obsessed with Jack in the Pulpits. I can’t wait until spring when they will reappear up in my little woods. They are so elusive, romantic and primordial.

On my calendar for 2011 the months of May, June, July and August I have featured just four of the versions of this woodland plant.

Forestfloords

The Forest Floor, silk 14” x 14” $125. Email me if you must have this quilt.

I hope you are staying warm and cozy and listening to all that wonderful holiday music, while you are making cookies and hot toddies.
