1. Listen to that little voice inside, it is usually RIGHT.

4. Follow your dreams where ever they may lead you!!
Well isn’t it true, if only we knew then what we know now, I keep saying youth is wasted on the young.
I sure wish I had the energy that I had then, but in reality I have much more focus now than I ever did back then.
I am trying to focus on making new work this year.
Oh sure I made plenty of new work last year, but most of it was small and I really want to get back to making big stuff. I miss that.
So this year already I have completed two larger pieces. One of which I can’t show you yet, but it will be in an upcoming issue of the new Modern Quilts Unlimited Magazine.
Here is a sneak peak at part of it. It is called Green Leaves.
And then I started a project for my daughter-in-laws mother. I don’t think she reads my blog but if you do CATHY, stop now.
This project is to be something for spring and it had to be a certain size.
I decide to use two of my favorite gradations to PIECE this idea.
Here is the beginning of the project I am calling Cathy’s Baskets.
I used Raspberry gradation and Limey Avocado to create this spring Wall Quilt.
I am working on a series of posts showing you the step outs for making this basket quilt.
Happy Quilting.

So are we going to hear the other 6 things? I like the idea of blogging out these - since I do have a 15 yr old! Ohh anddddd a pieced block - wow - you mean one can actually piece them together - grin - who knew?! Love the complementary colors - avocado is not only my fav fruit - its also my fav hand dyed!
Oh...If only I knew then what I know now....the quilting on your basket is just wonderful.
The baskets look AMAZING!!!!!
Beautiful basket, and colors are so vivid!
10 things I would tell my 16 year-old self, if I could:
1) Remember how hard Mom works and all she does to make a happy home for you. Never feel you are to old to give her hugs and kisses, they are more precious than jewels to her.
2) For God's sake stop forgetting to brush your teeth before you go to bed at night! I know you hate flossing, so ask Mom to get you a water-pik.
3) Its great that you love to read, so keep a dictionary close by to look up words you are unfamiliar with. A good vocabulary makes you more interesting when you speak.
4) I know that you are not good at football, basketball and baseball, but you enjoy gymnastics. Take the classes offered at school, even they don't have a team. You will be prepared for college where they do have gymnastics teams!
5) Stop being so shy! How else are the other kids going to want to be friends with you? The friends that you do have think you are fun to be with.
6) Many times you feel inadequate in speaking what is in your mind, so write it down. Your teachers say your writing skills are good. Keep taking writing courses, they will help you express yourself.
7) Follow your heart! You will be pushed by family and friends to do certain things. If it does not feel right or does not make you happy then don't do it. Discuss it with your Mom, even if you don't agree with what she says, it will help you to form your own opinions.
8) You are creative and like art. Take art courses that interest you. You will be able to decide what interests you the most. It can become an important part of your life when you are grown.
9) Don't distance yourself from your brothers because your characters are so different. Respect each other and love each other in spite of your differences.
10) You are at an age where people will start discussing your future and will want to know what you want to do when "you grow up." Stop fretting about it. You are too young to make that decision now. Again: Follow your heart!
