The new season for Quilting Arts TV will air soon. I will be featured twice, however you will only see me once. I was sick for my TV appearance and I had to mail it in. However my good friend Laura Wasilowski was able to present my project. I hope you get a chance to view it in your area. Give your PBS station a call if you can't see it.

Megan and Lars' shower

Two weekends ago I flew to Scranton PA to attend a bridal shower for my son Lars and my soon to be daughter in law Megan. I had a fabulous time visiting with them in their new home and being part of the celebration. I got to see where they live and work, visiting both of their jobs and even meeting the judge Lars is clerking for. As a mother I am so happy to see my son settling into a life he has worked so hard to achieve. As a new mother in law I couldn't be more blessed with my new "daughter". Life is good for all of us right now.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend. My niece Gretchen was also able to join us, so it really felt like family.

Autumn Mums

OOPS, it has come to my attention that the fabric kit for Autumn Mums may be short on fabric. If you purchased this pattern and DVD with the FABRIC KIT in the last month or so, it may have been packed with a width of fabric that is narrower than the one that I demo with on the DVD. Please contact me privately with your name and address along with where you bought it and I will send you an additional 1/4 yard of fabric.
Those darn workers of mine :(

Quilts I liked

Lars and Megan weekend

This past weekend I fly to Scranton PA to attend a bridal shower for Lars and Megan. I have not visited their new place yet, or seen them since they pasted the bar and started working as attorneys at law.
Lars made us breakfast to start the day as we went to off to have Megan's sisters try on their brides-maids dresses and be fitted and hemmed.

The bride and her sisters, Emily and Molly. Don't they look like 3 peas in a pod. Definitely sisters!

Such pretty girls. It was great fun to be included in this end of the wedding. Now, I just have to find a dress!

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

While we were in Houston, between Market and Festival, Laura and I took the day to go to the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. We enjoyed a wonderful small quilt exhibit, Unifing Threads, Art Quilts by Beyond Borders, which I will post tomorrow and we meet Kim Ritter a fellow SAQA member and wonderful fiber artist. She is doing an artist in residence program there while working on repairing her home in Galveston.

Post Cards

Earlier in the year a magazine put out a call for post cards. So I made these little darlings. I just got them back, they didn't make the cut for the magazine, so I am posting them here. I had a good time making them. They all have silk in them.

Fun quilting

Yesterday Debbie came into the booth with a big surprise. She had bought my SunDance Pattern and made this charming purse/tote with it. Isn't it fantastic!! I am always so pleased when people get really creative and start doing their own thing with my designs. That is the whole purpose to teaching and selling - to help inspire quilters to branch out and be creative.

And then Allison from Dallas, a designer in her own right, showed up with her show purse made from the scrapes of the class she took from me last month when I taught at the Dallas guild. Way to go Allison. She still hasn't finished the class project :( , but she so loved the idea of the scrape purse she whipped that right up. Allison was demoing over at the Quilting Arts booth yesterday.

The best thing about going to a big quilt show is getting all inspired by the work and by other people's creativity. I go home all fired up to make new art.
